Description
As each of us is engaging in efforts to work with uncertain times both individually, in families, communities and globally, we recognize how important it is to stay grounded in our embodied presence. We appreciate practices that can support our basic body-mind synchronization and the connection we feel to our “social bodies.” For greater accessibility we will offer an online course to practice and learn about embodied presence in the digital world.
Today many of us notice that our conventional and habitual ways of thinking and engaging in our life and work are not adequate. We long to contribute fresh insights and courage. This course offers practices to access genuine creativity both personally and collectively.
A “true move” is an action that arises from openness – a space in which our body, mind and environment are synchronized and not at war with one another. Making a “true move” in life is an art form that arises from the natural creativity in each of us. This course offers practices that can support our “true moves,” so necessary right now.
This course will be taught using zoom on three half days (7:30 am to 12:00 pm SGT). In addition we will host optional “community learning & practice time” on 16th & 17th (2 pm to 3 pm SGT). We intend to create a collective learning space with a retreat-like quality. We therefore highly recommend you to “gift” yourself three days of self-led retreat time. There would be reflective activities to do after the online zoom meetings each day that would enhance the overall learning experience.

What this program will provide
Participants can cultivate personal embodied presence through guided practices that include mindfulness, movement and reflection. Two person “Duets” and small group prototypes deepen connections to others. We will engage in “Stuck” practices, using our bodies to unlock the innate creativity and energy in teams and larger systems. Social Presencing Theater can provide a strong ground for sensing into ourselves and into our contexts – trusting our embodied experience of both our present situation and emerging possibilities.
This will lead to fresh insights, an ability to prototype creative ways of moving forward, and the courage to extend kindness and compassion to the systems and communities we care so deeply about. We can all engage in “true moves” that express this care.
