Kenneth Hogg

Over a 30 year period Kenneth has led organisational and whole-system change in complex environments.

As a Scottish Government Director for over 10 years he led Scotland’s public service reform policy and built multi-sector collaborative partnerships to improve outcomes for citizens. He has designed and led major reforms of public services to improve performance at less cost, and as a chief executive officer has led significant organisational, financial and cultural change.

Kenneth is particularly interested in bringing to life more participative approaches within organisations and communities which enable people to have a greater say in changes about things that matter to them, and in supporting leaders to build their capabilities. In that spirit, in 2015 Kenneth led the introduction of u.lab Scotland and has co-led the development of collective public service leadership in Scotland. A core question which has motivated Kenneth’s work over the last 10 years is: how do we lead change when we know that more of the same won’t get us the outcomes we want, and when our operating environment is no longer familiar or predictable?

Kenneth is passionate about personal and organisational learning and development, and about making a difference. For 5 years he was Head of the Policy Profession at the Scottish Government. He has wider private sector, international and non-executive Board level experience, and is a Chartered Director.
